The idea behind Toy Trunk by Kalaahi was born in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown. Priyanka a mother and an architect by profession began to spend a lot of time with her son. It was during this time she observed him play and started looking for the right kind of toys to aid his growth. During this phase she got the idea of starting her own company to provide the right kind of toys for her child. At the same time, Ajay an architect by profession was tinkering with the idea of starting his own venture in toys. After speaking with numerous parents he found that most toys in the market are simply entertaining the child without actually being beneficial in any way. This led to us coming together and founding Toy Trunk

After interacting with several Indian artisans, and extensive research with experts in education as well as child psychologists we identified what children need and how providing the right kind of activity toys can help them in their overall development.

Here, it is our vision and passion to develop sustainable toys for children which are safe, durable and inculcate learning and growth from an early stage. With the help of experts we have formulated principles to help both physical and brain development that translate into our toy design.

We understand that parenting is a difficult process and hence we recommend that all our toys be played by the child with the guidance of the parent/guardian to establish a strong bond between the two. Toy Trunk will always be ῝your parenting partner῞.
